About Working at Whitacre Rebar

Basic Job Functions

  • Follow company safety guidelines and exhibit a positive safety attitude
  • Operate shearing machines
  • Operate bending machines
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Load finished orders onto trailers
  • Unload stock material
  • Work in a team environment
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills

Whitacre Rebar has a long history of providing outstanding customer service and high-quality products and services to the construction industry. Today, we provide a coordinated package of rebar services (estimating, detailing, fabricating, placing) and high-quality products, serving the Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia markets from our facilities in Canton, Ohio and Syracuse, New York.

Construction or warehouse experience is not required for applicants. We take the time to thoroughly train applicants on every aspect of rebar fabrication, and we work to maintain high safety standards so you can feel comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

On-the-job training for individual positions is provided.

Applicants are required to complete a background check and a drug test before being hired at Whitacre Rebar. We maintain a non-discriminatory, drug-free workplace.

During busy construction seasons in the spring and fall, you may be required to work off shifts and overtime. You’ll be made aware of this well in advance and compensated appropriately for this priority work.

Safety is our number one priority and we go beyond the required precautions to keep our team safe. Employees are provided with all necessary personal protective equipment.

We value our team’s time and encourage a healthy work/life balance. Paid vacation time varies by position, but you can expect to start off with one week and accrue additional time based on years employed.

Our compensation package includes paid time for all major federal holidays, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day…

Pay depends on position and experience. Entry fabricators can expect $18–$22 per hour with monthly performance bonuses offered.
